    that even my Republican representative, Judy Biggert, has concerns about it.

    Many of my colleagues in the House and I support investing revenue from American energy production into Illinois roadways to create jobs and maintain our critical infrastructure – without new taxes.  However, looking at the transportation bill in its current form, I have real concerns with the overall funding for Illinois, as well as its potential impact on long-term planning for Chicago and suburban transit systems.  As suburban residents, we know better than most the importance of commuter options, especially as traffic increases on the I-55, 290, and our other major highways.
