  •  Might be worth it to have a vote on this (6+ / 0-)

McConnell wanted a vote on this. I'm not sure on what exactly, I'm assuming Blunt's bill that would allow any employer to refuse to provide contraception coverage.

It might be worth it to have a vote on that.

I think it's quite possible GOP loses more on that than Dems.

In fact, I could see a scenario where maybe we lose Manchin and Casey, but Snowe, Collins, Ayotte, Brown, Hutchison and Murkowski join with Dems to defeat the bill. That would be a victory for the Dems.

    •  I'm starting to think so as well. (8+ / 0-)

Now that they've had to move to ridiculous position of wanting to ban all birth control, I don't see why we shouldn't have a nice on the record vote.

    •  I'd actually want Brown (5+ / 0-)

to vote Nay on such a vote. Given a choice between the GOP leadership being embarrassed or depriving Brown of another vote that he could hold up as a sign of his independence, I'd choose the latter.

would push back (wrongly, not recognizing the advantages) as they wouldn't want to get into that fight...

but we all knew Republicans would double is what they do....
