  •  She's gonna be fine. But we should pony up. (5+ / 0-)

If I were her I'd be doing exactly what I'm doing now. Working the state county by county, door to door to get the name ID up.

I'd wait until after Labor Day to begin firing back with all guns a-blazin.

With a presidential election this year, Brown is going to have to rely on ticket-splitters to get re-elected. The only way he can do that is to make Warren unacceptable.

He's got his work cut out for him because she's a dynamo!

    •  And if Romney is the candidate (0+ / 0-)

the only thing Obama would have to worry about here is being considered a sure thing. No one likes Romney in Massachusetts. (I expect Paul to win the Super Tuesday primary; Frothy isn't this state's style)

    •  With her being so "unknown" though... (0+ / 0-)

...shouldn't we be blitzing the airwaves now to get ahead on defining her before the Kochs do (or have been doing)?

I'm a little surprised she is supposed to be that unknown in MA. Guess I assume everybody follows politics like we do.

      •  It's early in the season for politics. The (0+ / 0-)

news is mostly about the Presidential race and a lot of people aren't paying much information to that.  Not that many, percentage-wise, watch talking heads on TV, and as for newspapers, most people buy them for sports.

and the comments this morning, they're already hard at work calling her a carpetbagging elitist living in a five million dollar mansion and getting 2/3 or her donations from the evil out of staters. You know, like Brown did in 2010.

        •  They've been doing that for months (0+ / 0-)

The local message boards have been replete with comments (many from an obnoxious New Yorker named "WallStFella") calling Warren a carpetbagger even though she's lived in Massachusetts for almost twenty years.

As for the house...I looked it up on Zillow, and the actual sale value is closer to $1.5 million.  It's completely line with any house in walking distance of Harvard Square (which this one is).  Warren and her husband bought it in 1995, after they'd gotten tenure, for $447,000, which again was in line with local property values.
