    on getting any action on climate change legislation is if Obama wins a second term and opposes it. The natural order of business would have Republicans writing the most radical climate change legislation the world has yet known.

      the US government to address this issue. It's not a system that could ever have done it, least of all now when we've so empowered the forces driving climate change.

      If this region of the world is to take appropriate action it will have to be accomplished some other way. It could be half a century before governing power could be mustered that would have the practical ability to act meaningfully.
