and another ten grand that those ads will run santorum out of the race.

AND... another 10,000 smackers that Romney flip flops and wins the primaries and loses the nomination.

I don't see how Mitt goes negative on Rick without facing backlash.

Nothing that negative.  Just homeboy.  Mitten driving a car around suburban Detroit.  I've only seen it once here in Lansing, but I don't imagine we're his prime target.  He wants Detroit metro first.

          •  It's really his only constituency (0+ / 0-)

I can't imagine he thinks he can win outstate against lil ricki.  The fundies think he's a cultist and the 'baggers don't trust him as far as they can throw him.   He might do well in the UP but that's not exactly a vote rich environment.  Detroit's his best hope. He's big time anti-union and so are suburban Detroit publican voters.  Probably thinks he can mitigate his past statements about GM and Chrysler by blaming it all on the UAW.  Might work down there in the primary, but in the general, no way.

rMONEY is counting on getting enough of the historical "Reagan Democrats" - the Suburban Detroit GOP activists - to offset and overcome the rest of the GOP activists.

IOW the "Rick Michigan" nomination strategy.

The problem for Team rMONEY is that Our Benevolent Dictator only had to get past Hoekstra in a crowded field of almost exclusively GOP activists. rMONEY is faced with a much less crowded field of viable options and an altogether different universe of likely voters, which could end up as much as 5% Democratic or Democratic-leaning "party crashers" - more than enough to be the difference in a close contest.

I'm still wrestling with whether or not to participate in their Circus and casting a vote for Santorum in the Primary. I'm going to be wrestling with that decision all the way up to Primary Day.
