    but maybe a way to pay down our debit is to get more people working, not taking benefits (which they should have), paying taxes.

      Economic growth is only PART of the mid and long-term solution.  

      The President's Budget is based on completely unrealistic expectations of economic growth (an average of 3.9% a year for each of the next four years) and it still has huge deficits four years out. If he would scale that back to something more realistic -- like, say, 3% a year for the next four years -- the deficits four years out would be much, much larger.  

      I am fine with making realistic assumptions of what economic growth we can expect, and what additional revenue that will bring in.  

      But don't base budget assumptions on some measure of economic growth that any serious economist knows is completely unrealistic.
