  •  I understand the strategy behind this, but (6+ / 0-)

... let's not forget how much unregulated money will be behind whoever gets the GOP nod.  And the myriad voter-suppression tactics being deployed by Republican state legislatures. And the possibility of a new economic crisis based on Eurozone calamities far outside DC's purview that would nonetheless be blamed on Obama by the echo chamber.

I tend to agree with kos that Santorum PROBABLY wouldn't win based on the current situation. But that situation could change. And kos once confidently predicted Michele Bachmann would be the nominee.

Winning elections is great, but building movements is better.

I am stunned at the number of 21st century Americans who are enthusiastic, supportive and committed to these clowns. In my long life, NEVER did I see such unhinged positions at the top of either party.

When a measurable proportion of any nation goes this deep into hate-and-crazy land, anything can happen.

      he even entered the contest.

Sure, he screwed up on Bachmann, but, in his defense, he did produce a caveat which was that no one else enter the race.  Perry stole Bachmann's vote.  Then he lost it to Cain by being the biggest moron ever to run for president.

Kos has good instincts and he's absolutely right here.

      Santorum has no chance.  None.

Those who are afraid of him are defeatists.  Pure and simple.

      Stand up and fight.

We are Democrats, damn it.  We are not afraid to fight.  We are not afraid to use any means at our disposal to put them on the defensive in every contest right down to county dog catcher.

We are Democrats.  We do not hem and haw.  We fight.  And we win.

      Thus endeth the sermon.

Ceterum censeo Factionem Republicanam esse delendam.
