  •  I remember the 1964 NY World's Fair (5+ / 0-)

I was 8 years old at the time and we took trains from Texas to New York, DC, and back. When I saw this picture recently I recognized that that was where they were, and it struck me that here's Mitt as a teenager in the same place I was at 8 years old. Very funny that he would be representing this a picture from a Detroit auto show when there are people around my age and older that would easily recognize the place in the picture as the NY World's Fair because we were there too.

And that wall in the IBM pavillion that you sat on and it lifted you into the egg, where you watched a film about com-pu-ters.

And when your dad let YOU sit behind the wheel of the Mustang.

And those weird animatronic GE characters.

But the Pieta seemed to glow with an inner glow.

first time! I'm a native NY'er so I recognized the picture right away even though I was a little kid in 1964.

How many people are actually going to believe that that's Detroit?
