    and my son, sadly did.

    This was a planned, wanted pregnancy during our long-term, loving marriage.  I had a placental abruption at 6 months, 40 hours of labor, and horrible complications during and afterwards.

    My mother too had horrible, unspeakable complications from a (wanted) pregnancy, which resulted in a hospital nurse saying she had never seen anything so horrible since she had seen an African immigrant woman who had been "circumcised" (after trying to get a catheter into my elderly mother).  I do know that my father said he wanted to kill the doctor and that my mother was in the hospital for 3 weeks before she could walk again.

    This is real people.  Both of these instances happened in major East coast hospital during the later half of the 20th century.

    I am becoming absolutely enraged by these idiots.  We must do something.
