To be a Republican, you have to believe that our economic problems are caused by the poor having too much money and the rich not having enough.

with the word "pearl" or the verb "clutch." The term "pearl clutchers" is derogative allegory, an epithet but not a curse and certainly not misogynistic /sexist. It harkens back to an age when women of certain social standing wore pearls regularly, and were known to clutch at them when their feigned sensibilities were supposedly offended. For the purpose of communicating offense by means of dramatic emotional display. In common usage it is applied to people of either sex when someone engages in dramatic emotional display of their offended sensibilities.

          Urban Dictionary: pearl clutchers -

An uptight person, usually but not always female, usually but not always of conservative mores, who reacts with shock, feigned or otherwise, at other people's violations of decorum, propriety, morality, and so forth.

Someone got up at the PTA meeting and suggested the school hand out condoms to teenagers. The pearl clutchers in the audience nearly went into cardiac arrest.

Would you like "drama queens" better? "Melodramatic emoters" takes too long to say, but plain old "emos" might work.
