Mittens knows about it and has someone working on a vicious little ad pointing it out.

If the race becomes batshit-crazy Christianity vs. Mormonism, the latter might lose. Perhaps because Mormonism is just another flavor of batshit-crazy Christianity.

      •  Mormonism isn't Christian (0+ / 0-)

        It's not even monotheistic.

I once read one of Bart Erman's (spelling?) books on the history of early Christianity.  There were gnostic sects that believed there were dozens of gods.  And that Yahweh was malevolent (I'd say they had a point there).  Anywho, sadly, what today we'd label the orthodox movement - the ancestor to all the modern Christianities - pretty much stamped out all the gnostics and other sects that had been around.

Some don't think modern Christianity is monotheistic -rather depends on how one views the 'Trinity'.

Mormonism is an interesting case - if nothing else, it is certainly DERIVED from Christianity.  Just as Christianity was derived, in part, from Judaism (and once there were more explicitly Jewish sects of it).  So it depends on ones' POV - has Mormonism wandered off far enough to be considered a new and separate religion, like Christianity and Islam, or is it just a very unusual sect of Christianity?  I dunno.  All I know is, both as a Native American and a woman, they piss me off.
