      And it turns out that students like that.
      We were an interesting case.  This was in the heyday of "intelligence" testing and tracking of students according to that.  So for three years in Junior High, I was with pretty much the same group of students for all my classes.  We were the top class in the school and everyone knew it, we all knew which group was number 2 and number 3.  So we thought we were hot shit and were pretty cocky.  So I think part of her task was to take us down a peg and then show us what real academic acheivement was about.
