as it is Paul of Tarsus and other latecomers who took a religion of brotherly love and turned it into one of oppression and intolerance. This has been going on for nearly 2000 years, and the Popes weren't all that significant for the first 500 or so.

    If it's
    Not your body,
    Then it's
    Not your choice
    And it's
    None of your damn business!

Paul of Tarsus/Saul of Tarshish rather than those of Jesus?

      The popes.

What is more, the Pope claims absolute supremacy over the Catholic Church; that he and he alone holds the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and can bar or allow anyone entry to the afterlife. Face the facts: you obey the Pope, or you're not a Catholic.

Here they are, harming the poor to make a political point, when Jesus said that they must love the poor and provide for the needy. Why? Because the Pope said so. And what the Pope said trumps what Christ said.

Sounds like "Papists" rather than "Christians" to me.

      •  Blame it on the Emper Constantine I and (0+ / 0-)

the First Council of Nicaea, AD 325.

That's when the whole dog and pony show was first seriously organized.
