      there is more than one type of closet.  Some might elicit some compassion maybe while others not so much.  Well maybe someday the mystery will be solved or not, but either way I hope his political career is dead, dead, dead.

      was saying I could better spend my energy on other political issues than replacing Arora.
      If we hadn't gotten the 2 Republican votes in the General Assembly, then the combo of Arora's defection and the serious illness of one of the bill's cosponsors would have meant defeat. I now no longer trust him on anything.  If he suddenly developed religious beliefs that preclude support for marriage equality, then the religion he's involved in is probably anti-choice, anti-birth control, anti-protection from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender, etc. The truth is that women and gays have common cause -- homophobes are often also misogynists. So I'm with you that we need to get this guy replaced ASAP (even though that's 2 years from now) because he's not trustworthy on any of the issues we care about.
