  •  I think the biggest issue with the GOP... (5+ / 0-)

....is that from the time of FDR there has always been this one segment of American society that gives it's vote to the Right Wing by default. The 30%ers of FDR's time are the 30%ers of Obama's time.

Back in the day of FDR, the anti-pluralists rallied under the auspice of The American Liberty League, the American Legions, the KKK, the Silver Shirt Legions, Father Coughlin(It's misspelled, I know.), and the Corporate Plot instigators who pegged Major Gen. Smeadely Butler to instigate a coup de' tat. Today, we have the John Birch Society, the Sovereign Citizens Movement, the Christian Identity Movement, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, the Tea Party, and a host of other entities.

The fact that this 30 to 35% remains a force in America at all speaks volumes about how low social development in our country is in comparison to the rest of the First World.

This screeching level of rhetoric is getting quite scary.  I urgently wish for it to ebb... even a little.

Letting Republicans run the government is like putting Atheists in charge of a church. They don't believe in it, don't care if it works - and they take no responsibility for the results.
