    clutching and whining about the President's religion means next to nothing to the Left.  I think it's safe to say that Liberals/Progressives/Dems believe quite firmly in the separation of church and state.  In fact, it is offensive to many that the President's religion and/or faith is even discussed at all.

      expressed reservations about using one's religion and its dogma as part of a platform for a candidate.

      I don't think the letter they signed will have much influence, but still...
