    Carrying children was not kind to my body, as in: I nearly bled to death, and needed 4 days of hospitalization after my daughter's birth. Child number 2 was a little easier in the "not almost dying" sense, but he was so big, and born so quickly, it created a whole host of other problems.

    My grandmother died in childbirth. My mother died, but was resuscitated when miscarrying the child that would have been my sister. When she was recovering from my younger brother's birth, her doctor told her in no uncertain terms to NEVER have another child. Period. End of discussion.

    Some of us are simply not built for child-bearing. Taking that risk with our lives and health is OUR DECISION and NO ONE else's. The self-righteous political charlatans can go pound sand.
