  •  How long until (5+ / 0-)

the militant police go in and protect the 1 percent again?  We pay their fucking salaries so they can serve and protect US!
If the corporations want the protection, they should hire mercs or their own damn protection.
The results will be the same. Head bashing.
That is what is so disgusting.

    •  The problem is that property rights trump (5+ / 0-)

human rights.  What is owned is more important than a natural person.  In part, that's because of our long tradition of people being owned.  A free person is perceived as worth less because a free person does not do what he's told.  The culture of obedience favors people who "behave."

The odd thing about ownership is that it actually serves as a handle for manipulating people.  Their reluctance to be stripped of their property is supposed to make them reluctant to disobey.  Or to put it another way, obedience is linked to the necessities of life.

"Obey or Die" has replaced "Live Free or Die."

    •  they are under the delusion that (0+ / 0-)

obeying the 0.001% will protect their salaries, benefits, and pensions.

Instead of isolating them from public support and sympathy when their pay gets cut, they find themselves without health care, and their pensions become 401Ks. Which is part of the plan the elite has in mind for the police.

When this happens in Oakland, the OPD will discover that they are 100% on their own.
