Leave the little people alone, how is a sales tax a progressive or liberal solution? Especially in these hellish times, my god.

It's not progress, the earth is not flat, yadda yadda, don't flap your lips at me the sky is green, okay?

And why the governor should withdraw his measure and support the Millionaires Tax of 2012. His measure is regressive.

      •  why is the Millionaire's tax (0+ / 0-)

preferable to the Our Children Our Future initiative?

        •  Couple things (0+ / 0-)

Our Children Our Future is similar to the governor's initiative in the tax impacts -- it affects a lot more people by taxing at incomes starting at about $14,000 and up, with some complicated math on the impact. The Millionaires Tax of 2012 is simpler and straightforward and doesn't add any additional economic burden to those who can't afford to pay. The Millionaires Tax of 2012 also funds a range of services, including 60% of revenue placed in a trust fund for education spending, while Our Children Our Future is strictly education, though I agree education does need a lot more support.

On a political side, one other difference with Our Children Our Future is the polling. Friday's Field Poll had it at 45/48% favorable/unfavorable, which is not as promising. The Field Poll had Millionaires Tax of 2012 leading all proposed initiatives for the fifth straight poll with 63%.
