    Meanwhile, the one nutjob, claiming to be a scientist but denying the reality would be in front of cameras and reporters. It was more fun to follow the denier, than to pay attention to the real scientists, stating facts.

    Sad enough that they give air time to the loonies but even worse that they seldom force them to back up their bogus claims with facts.

      at least, is that they shy away from media. They are quiet people trying to do important work.

      My BIL is fairly like this, but he was adamant about getting the message out. He was regularly upset by the "loudmouth louts".

      With the cut backs in NASA funding, which is small relative to the Federal Budget, outreach must be difficult. Same with NOAA and other agencies we need information from.

      Science is hell bent on consensus. Dr. Michael Crichton said “Let’s be clear: The work of science has nothing to do with consensus... which is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right,”
