    Here's what I do with handweights to hit two muscle groups at once. When you're working with weights, think about if you'd like to build strength/tone or serious mass. This is the difference in the weight-loads you choose: number of reps vs. heavier weights.
    With ten-pound weights, although I started at five, sit on the weight bench with your back supported. This is very important; do not do weights that stress out your lower back while standing. Your back needs the support. Curl your hands around the weights facing you, and slowly lift up. Halfway up, twist your hands forward so that your knuckles are facing you, and lift straight up. This handy little move was invented by the repugnant Arnold Schwarzenegger, so guys at the gym always called it the "schwarzenegger," but it is very effective!
