Replacing our addiction to fossil fuels will result in the continuation of a culture that destroys rather than rebuilds. It will continue to fuel an economy predicated on unlimited growth. Removing tons of biomass from land every single year results in soil depletion. I don't have much faith that once "big ag" gets its hands on millions of acres of farmland that they will suddenly change their methods. We will see an increase in biocide usage in order to "safeguard" our miracle fuel.

The problem isn't oil. The problem is how we live on this planet. Changing out components in a rapacious system doesn't make it any less destructive.

While this is old news to most Kossacks, I think that we all need to be reminded of the reality facing us.

The data points to the problem: our subservience to a system that requires perpetual growth.
