Try and get copies of The Thick of It, a more recently broadcast series about government functionaries caught up in an endless cycle of cynical spinning for the press. (The series aired in 2005, 2007, 2009, and this coming year, 2012.) Hilarious. It's hard to find but can be ordered from the UK and watched on an all-region DvD player. (Or since the beeb is so danged slow, bit-torrented.) Failing that, you can watch a movie made from the series, which shows the two countries, UK and USA, drifting into a war in the middle east that no one really wants, yet becomes inevitable. Very sharp satire, and sadly, also very possibly how real life events came about. Available on Netflix. Careful, both the show and the movie has some of the most creative use of foul language I have ever heard.
