    His church, whatever church that may be, may interfere.  No one else's church would be given the same right.  In his mind the worshipers at a mosque would have no rights because they are of the wrong religion.  Not only should they not have a mosque (NYC controversy over the community center),  they most certainly not have any other rights to influence government policy based on their religious beliefs.   We won't have to wear burquas, just stay home, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

    The equality of opportunity, that every religion has the same rights, is not part of his constitution.
