  •  That's an interesting concept (6+ / 0-)

What I take it mean is perhaps it could motivate LGBT voters to be more politically active and vote Democratic. (A curse be upon the Log Cabin Republicans).

But it presumes that there are either a large number of non-voting LGBT members or many that vote Republican. Does anyone have the numbers on that?

Also, has Rick Santorum's rhetoric cost him any women voters? The sad fact is a lot of women vote Republican because their husbands do. Will some of them, and if so how many, change their voting because of what Santorum and the GOP are saying?

While Democrats lost women voters in the 2010 midterm election, Obama now carries them by 12 percentage points against a generic Republican. Among white women, Obama leads Romney 51 percent to 45 percent. It’s a strong base to build from, according to Lake.

“Both a combination of the president’s positives and the Republicans’ negatives have brought women back in very strong form,” said Lake.

      •  Yes, but that's not the question I asked (0+ / 0-)

I want to know how many are switching votes just because of Santorum's rants. Sorry, but those votes could've switched for all sorts of reasons, why is important to know. Say they all switched because of unemployment, then what happens if U3 goes up? Also the quote didn't address LGBT voting.
