I'm all for anything to upset the apple cart - a fair fight is one you win - and anyone on this site worrying about fair play had better check their heads.

However ... I think there's a bit of denial going on about the power of online fundraising. This site had a great 2 election cycles with fundraising but the game's been changed. Netroots has to fight asymmetric warfare. Target resources very specifically. Any of the super-duper PACs can come in and match and exceed a netroots online fund drive before lunch. Now if money can buy every election we're screwed but if we can focus on races for (much much) better Dems and pay to put boots on the ground and get some good progressives (or whatever we're calling the left of center these days) out the door to make some noise it could help to move the Overton in the big picture and maybe swing a few races in Nov or primaries in 2014.

If the site admins - by which I guess I mean kos - picked some small House races and then put all the weight behind some loud mouths - which is good if they're our loud mouths - real trouble could be made down ticket. Attempting to play with the high rollers like it's 2008 is going to get lost in the fund raising numbers.

If you didn't like the news today, go out and make some of your own.
