Santorum win the nomination, can you at least understand why some of us do?

to agree that the desired endpoint makes sense.
In any case, let's not refight that battle -- the areas of disagreement among many of us here are far far (to infinity and beyond!) smaller than our disagreement with all of the Republican candidates.

about a young girl growing up in and leaving Iran.  read it or watch the animated movie and then tell me that you want Rick Santorum to be any closer to becoming President than he is right now

hell, tell me that having him this close doesn't already scare the shit out of you after his comment about separation of church and state yesterday

      •  I don't think that nominating Santorum (1+ / 0-)

really puts him closer to the Presidency.  He's that bad.  I think that the public could grimace and swallow Romney as President if gas prices hit $8/gallon, but I don't think that they would swallow Santorum.  (The candidate, not the ... you know.)

What nominating Santorum does do, however, is make nominating the next Santorum almost unthinkable.  As with Paul for the libertarians, Santorum is all that the American mullahs could want.  We'd leave him in shattered pieces.

We're not actually on the opposite sides; we just differ in how we estimate him.

...proving that even the knuckle scrapers who cheered Rick S. on and laughed at his anti-intellectual humor have their limits. Perhaps that should reassure us about America.
