  •  yes, but prolonging the agony is GOOD. (19+ / 0-)

I'd rather beat the plutocrats than the theocrats this time too, because beating the plutocrats will weaken them and dry up some of the funding for the theocrats, making the theocrats easier to squish later.

However there is much to be said for prolonging the pain, making them spend a few hundred million dollars more than otherwise, and keep biting & scratching each other and making screechy noises that do not endear them to the voters.

When else are you going to have such a great opportunity to make a couple of nasty Republicans waste a ton of money?  And some of that money will be spent locally where it actually does some good.  Think of it as your own contribution to redistribution and economic stimulus.

"Minus two votes for the Democrat" equals "plus one vote for the Republican." Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.

    •  Good Point. But I would prefer we squish the both (0+ / 0-)

of them at the same time. It is hard to say which is more dangerous right now. I give them equal billing.

Sig seen on Redstate: ABO Anybody But Obama. Sorry, I'm stealing that.... Another Barack Opportunity. Vote Obama/Biden 2012!

So realistically we can't quite squish both in the same manner.

But squishing the plutocrats first, will weaken the theocrats, whereas the reverse isn't as likely.

OTOH we could hope that if Romney gets the nom, he picks up some total religious right whackadoodle as his running-mate, and that would give us something closer to a two-fer.

Realistically, none of us around here has a precognition score that's consistently better than p < .01, so the best we can do is keep a supply of viable tactics and be ready to do whatever is needed as the events occur.
