  •  As long as he votes for a Dem majority leader (8+ / 0-)

He can push whatever ideas he wants that have no support within the party. We're not going to get anywhere close to 60 seats anyway, so if he wants to vote with the GOP sometimes so be it. The important thing is that he is onboard on procedural stuff

    •  Exactly (0+ / 0-)

That's why I can fully get being conservadems in districts that we normally wouldn't win, because, even if they vote 99.99999% of the time with the GOP, they sure as hell wouldn't dare vote for a republican as majority leader.  So, asserting one's party to the speakership is infinitely more important than how they vote on other things IF that's the best we can do.

I know a lot of people on here really wanted to see Walt Minnick go down in 2010, but I was pulling for him for exactly this reason, unfortunately, he didn't keep it close at all.
