I doubt Romney hates anyone. Is he passionate about anything other than flattering his ego?

That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

Why are you here? I truly don't understand, though I won't spend too much time thinking about it. Have a good night.

of anything and everything anybody might disagree on, like whether the earth is round or whether Boston once had a player named Ted Williams.

Neither of us can definitely prove, via contemporaneous brain scans and definitively linked interpretations thereof exactly what underlies Mitt's words and actions, so there is really little point to discussing those motives ad infinitum.

Barring special cases like suspected and convicted criminals, bono-fide threats to the safety and health of others (Typhoid Mary) and a handful of other limitedcases with respect to special factors, we should all be as equals.

When somebody treats a class of others as unequal, and/or advocates that others do so and/or advocates that the law should do so, that springs from hate. There is no other possible motive. Those who denigrate, demean, debase, treat as unequal, of lesser worth or merit, as having less rights, as being second class citizens, etc., etc., etc. any group(s) or class(es) of persons do so from hate. Even if there were somehow a conceivable different motive, in the absence of accompanying hatred, inherent compassion, empathy and the like would override that mysterious non hate based urge to bigotry and hate-filled speech and action.

Some get it and some don't. To those who do, Mitt's history, speeches and actions make him an open and shut case. To those who don't get it, I'm sure it is very arguable. There are apologists for every action and person in history, but none has ever made a convincing case that hateful action can be intentionally performed without some underlying hate, and vast numbers have tried. The exception is possibly psychopaths, and I guess Mitt could be one, but I haven't really the time or inclination to explore that whole can of worms at the moment.

and then win the presidency, because it's his turn.  His ego isn't that big though.

Newt's got the biggest ego, by far.

      •  Agreed on Newt (0+ / 0-)

He's probably a megalomaniac. Romney, on the other hand, is no kind of maniac at all, just a self-entitled rich man.
