    is March 7. That Bloody Sunday, the contrast between peaceful protesters and the brutality that tried to silence them led directly to LBJ introducing the federal Voting Rights legislation. LBJ used the words 'We Shall Overcome' in his address to Congress. MLK Jr., IIRC, sat in the visitors' gallery during the speech.

    Light overcame darkness in Selma.
