    Most of the time I am proud of my senator, but every once in a while he signs on to stupid things like this and his co-op healthcare plan. Granted the co-op idea was probably better than what we got, but I would have hoped he would be a strong advocate for single payer.

      is a desperate desire to be remembered for something major, that will outlive them and define their legacy. I guess that some are more discriminating about what that is than others, I guess. Plus, he's caught the "Serious Person" bug.

      I really don't get it either.  At times I think he sees a greater good out there and that he can use this idea to get there.  At times I think his position on this is being badly misinterpreted.  Then at times I think he is another in a string of Senators from our state who just quit thinking about us out west entirely.  He used to be a fighting gray panther, and we used to see him here in Portland, not just a little, but frequently. Now, yeah, what's up with this?
