we really need to cover the needs of the many. Offering a fingernail while taking the whole hand is simply insulting. The EU passes austerity measures which are disproportionally effecting women (this is the case in Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal). They are destroying the public sector where women are disproportionally employed, while they offer a palliative which has little or no impact on the vast majority of women who are facing real hardship due to an unnecessary attack. What we need is both, women being able to move to break a glass ceiling and full-time well paid jobs for others with benefits. Most job creation that is occurring is part-time jobs and these are also disproportionally going to women as they are also losing benefits and after-school programmes and need to cover the kids as well. Giving a pat on the head to a tiny few and then knee-capping all the others is catastrophic.
