Explain to me how this works.

Or what it works to do.

Oklahoma republican primary voters are the very definition of an echo chamber.
I bet it was a shock to more than a few of the faithful gathered to hear a Santorum Sermon only to see it disrupted by people who don't fervently and desperately believe that Obama isn't American, didn't get Bin Laden, and got us stuck in a never-ending quagmire in Libya.
Anything that serves to smack these people upside the head with a dose of good old pluralistic reality is a good thing.

Class war has consequences, and we are living them.

but honestly, there are a LOT of hippies in Oklahoma, and a lot of moderates.  The problem is that so many people have always voted Republican that they just can't wrap their heads around the fact that "Republican" doesn't mean what it used to.

They don't like Occupy because (at least the local Occupy group) is rude and jonesing for attention more than for actual change.  They don't like Democrats because they're seen as weak and wimpy.  And they aren't liking Republicans because they're being seen as greedy and clueless.

Oklahomans are red out of habit and that's where their comfort zone was, but it's not there any more and they don't have anywhere else to go, so they just stay red and hope things will change.

Changing people in Oklahoma is done slowly, one-on-one.

This whole Limbaugh thing has a lot of them asking questions of themselves and of those they support. If the Republican candidates and those who claim to speak for Republicans keep on being so clueless and so stupid, they may lose their support.

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be anything to fill that vacuum, anything to attract the people who are wavering, who want to leave, so chances are, they'll keep voting Republican because that's what they know, that's where their comfort zone is.

        All knowledge is worth having.
