  •  seems like teabagger tactics (7+ / 0-)

Not a smart move for Occupy.

The strength of Occupy is changing the national conversation about corporate dominance of our lives, and shining a light on the oligarchy.

Targetting individual politicians and shouting them down is straight out of the teabagger playbook.

What's wrong under Republicans is still wrong under Democrats.

not a lot of smart has been coming out of this "movement" for a while.   Dumber yet,  I hear they are going to disrupt the Democratic convention in NC.

      •  if they disrupt both it would at least (1+ / 0-)

stick with their strength:  The message that both parties advance corporatist interests over the working/middle/poor class.

A real pitfall for Occupy is if they allow themselves to become an arm of the Democratic Party.  The Democrats answer to teabaggers.  They'll lose a large part of their validity.  At this point, Democrats are just as responsible for buttressing the corporatist status quo as Republicans.

Some may want to disrupt Santorum.  They should also want to disrupt Obama for empowering the likes of Geithner, Summers, Emmanuel, Daley, etc.  Remember, it's their ilk that set the stage for the meltdown to happen.

Personally, I think literally shouting people down is not the best move.  But if you're going to do it, you'd better damn well do it to all the guilty parties.  Not just the ones with the "R" after their name.
