to get in front of.  With avowedly anti-Obama people having a fair amount of control of the market price, you can bet they're going to do what they can to drive the price up as the election approaches.  With enough repetition of the narrative, this will peel off voters.

Obama should be out denouncing the oil companies, the speculators and the hoarders and repeating ad naseum that the Congress needs to do something about the gas prices that are harming the little guy in this country.  He needs to go on a little campaign where he crafts a bill, begins pushing it and goes to economically strapped battleground states to try to sell his bill and point out which congressmen are standing in the way of its passage.

We cannot afford to dismiss this narrative.  It will be coming to a television near you this October and we'd best have an answer for it.

however, is for fuel prices to reach the same parity with what they pay in the rest of the world.  The low gas prices are encouraging people to go out a purchase monster trucks again, with the same results that they will become white elephants when the gas prices go up again.

      •  I agree. But that can wait until after the (0+ / 0-)

election.  That may sound cynical, but if we lose this election, then green energy may be pushed onto the back burner for another generation, just as it was in 1980.
