    I've been traveling and haven't had much time online.

    What I mean is that there are an astounding number of people who lack the consciousness of their own effect upon the world and the people around them.

    Of course, none of us are capable of 100% consciousness.  But yes, I think time for reflection is one of the things that can help increase that consciousness.

    This I learned after spending many months in a remote location, where social interaction was rare and time to think was aplenty.  I spent much more time in a reflective state out there than I am allowed back in town; where momentum has us all perpetually rushing ever forward, with few pauses allowed.  By contrast, it's exhausting.
