  •  When Romney... (5+ / 0-)

...revises his tax plan so that it won't give a huge tax cut to millionaires at the same time that it raises taxes on the poorest Americans, then we'll stop "obsessing" over the Romney wealth.

    •  We can debate tax policy all day (0+ / 0-)

That would be great. I don't think Romney pays a fair tax rate.

That's not what this is about, though. There was absolutely nothing relevant in her statement in my eyes. We only focus on it to highlight the fact that the Romneys are "different". I don't like it

      •  I don't like that the Romney's... (7+ / 0-)

...are so drastically out of touch with what life is like for the vast, vast majority of this country.  If it was one single statement, then we would easily move beyond it.  But again and again and again they show that they, in living their life of extreme priviledge, don't understand life for those of us who make less that a million a year.  It is in demonstrating that inability to understand that reveals to us that as a president Romney would implement policy after policy that hurts us and benefits the uberwealthy like himself.  I gave Romney's tax plan as an example, not as a totality of why people talk about his being extremely wealthy.  Warren Buffet is extremely wealthy too, but we don't talk about him the way we do Romney because Buffet has demonstrated that he understands what it's like for us who don't have his wealth.  Romney has demonstrated otherwise.

        •  I can't believe I made that grammatical error. (2+ / 0-)

Romney's = Romneys; it's plural, not possesive.  I so hate making grammatical and spelling errors.  :*(

        •  Still irrelevant to me (0+ / 0-)

I just don't go for it. I vote for parties and platforms. The most salt of the earth Republican could be running, I won't vote for him. Let's focus on policy. Running against the "other" really runs me the wring way.

...that it is policy that people are reacting against when it comes to Romney.  His inability to understand what life is like for those who aren't extremely wealthy like him will produce policy that doesn't benefit anyone except the wealthy like him.

            •  People may make that connection (1+ / 0-)

I don't, I expect people who run for president to be weird and different. Kerry and Gore were two guys I would say are pretty out of touch with the common man, but I voted for them. Its a political argument, not an election for my new best friend.
