    by virtue of being associated with a public Congressional hearing.

    The defamation laws vary by state. Generally, they apply differently for public persons, private persons, and levels in between. So there is such a thing as semi-public or semi-private persons, although these aren't the proper legal terms.

    The laws cover these in-between cases, but it can get complicated.

    I think that filing a lawsuit, even if her case is strong, would benefit Limbaugh more than anything. He certainly has enough money to keep things going for a long time. And it would be newsworthy. Limbaugh has been sued before. He knows how to play around the edges of the law.

    Sadly.

    Getting the gasbag off the air is up to us.
