      roadblocks to accomplishing them. Between now and November I don't expect much legislation to pass that benefits the 99%. Every point you raise, and with which I heartily concur, smacks right up against the interests of the finance oligarchs.

      To think that they will release the death grip they have on our economy is completely unrealistic. The only possibility for change that I see comes from the Occupy movement. If enough awareness can be raised about the stakes involved, maybe some small change can be accomplished in 2012.

      Otherwise I see this as a year of tremendous disengagement from the electoral process by millions of apathetic voters. I don't envision the backlash that brought in the Teahadists of 2010, but I do see enough disinterest and dismay that the presidential outcome in November is far from certain.

      If the head of the ticket is in that much trouble, and I think he may well be, downline what I hear is crickets.
