  •  It really constitutes slander, anyway (5+ / 0-)

No one has the right to lie and defame for political points.  He used a public platform to lie and slander the reputation of a good person; we need to draw some boundaries here.  He accused her of terrible things that he knew was untrue, and caused many reasonable people to believe the topic was about sexuality and not health care advocacy.  It was reprehensible and designed to destroy.

    •  It is *legally* slander (0+ / 0-)

There are very few cases in which slander cases can be brought  and won. One is for stating that someone else has a "loathsome disease."

The other is impugning the sexual behavior of a woman.

Rush must know this. He spent three days defaming Ms. Fluke's sexual behavior in the grossest fashion possible. The tapes have gotten widespread coverage. Now he is turning on other young, single women.

Limbaugh obviously wants the headlines that a case for defamation of character would bring. The only problem he'd have is the he will lose in a court of law.

Sandra Fluke ought to end up with Rush's big mansion-fortress-broadcast station down on Florida's Gold Coast.

They say "cut back" - we say "fight back"!
