    about our history.

One small detail, however.  She would not have tried to "run" for Senate because Canadian senators are appointed, not elected.  Mostly likely, she (or parties advocating on her behalf) was seeking an appointment to the Senate.  Of course, the important point is that she was denied because she was not considered to be a person.

The main reason I'm pointing out that Canadian senators are appointed (with peculiarly Canadian exceptions) is so that Americans who might encounter a Canadian senator realize they are dealing with a beneficiary of political influence rather than electoral prowess.  :)

said it would be that she allowed her name to be put forward as a possible senator, but was rejected by the PM. Thanks for pointing that out, it is time for our senate to be reformed isn't it?
