View Diary: At this point, being a conservative isn't a political philosophy, it's a personality disorder (178 comments)

'Racism and other forms of bigotry are harmful to others.'

I would say the same about the mass psychological diagnosis of an entire political party, deeming them genetically or mentally 'inferior', and thus 'curing' them with some pill.

Based on the description above it sounds like two sides of the same coin. Passive and thoughtful versus aggressive and nervous. Conservatives are the type of people we need around when the bomb drops.

I regret to announce - this is the end. I am going now. I bid you all a very fond farewell..

.... all Republicans or all conservatives.

But I am in favor of diagnosing and treating racism, hatred, and rage disorder.

      It's like this:

You have a guy who wants to screw 10-year-old girls.  He has endless fantasies about that while whacking off, but he never tells anyone else, never looks at kiddie porn, and never goes near a kid much lays a hand on them.

So far, no problem.  But if he starts pestering kids and hanging out suspiciously around the school playground, now there's a problem.  If we had a pill for that, we could treat it under court order.  Instead we usually flush these people down the jail.

Now you have a guy who wants to put, Jews, gays, and so on, in gas chambers.  He has endless fantasies about this, but he never tells anyone else, never uses the N-word or its equivalents for Jews, gays, etc., and never lays a hand on anyone.

So far, no problem.  But if he starts pestering his black coworkers and hanging out suspiciously at the local synagogue parking lot, now there's a problem.  We usually don't flush these people down the jail.  But dammit if we had a pill for that, and now we do!, we could treat it under court order.

"Minus two votes for the Democrat" equals "plus one vote for the Republican." Arithmetic doesn't care about your feelings.

Yeah, that would be a much better solution than dropping the person in jail to be inevitably assaulted/murdered/turned into an even worse person.
