  •  Public school books Christian ministry?? (18+ / 0-)

Already we are talking lawsuit, though maybe not in Iowa.  Please visit the website and see it for yourself.  It is beyond belief that this superintendent thought he was booking an anti-bullying program.  This man used public funds for an overtly Christian program that advertises itself as promoting an anti-gay agenda.  I hope he enjoys his new career, and I hope the school board enjoys settling lawsuits.

The website itself is all Bradlee Dean, all the time, and if the name sounds familiar you may recall his opening prayer in the Minnesota House of Representatives last May.  He hates Muslims, calls Obama a Muslim, and he really, really hates gays.  The website leaves no doubt whatsoever about Dean's hate and religious bigotry - and relentless self-promotion.  Only a superintendent who shares those views could look at the website for 2 minutes without being shocked.

This is either unimaginably gross incompetence or a deliberate attempt to promote bigoted religious views in a public school with taxpayer funds.  This is appalling.

that he was relying on the previous experience and didn't bother to do a review of the band's latest work. It was negligent and I'm sure he'll have to answer for it.

When I was in school Christian rock bands played school assemblies but they didn't proselytize or preach. They said general golden rule stuff and called it a day. Times have changed as christianists have become more aggressive in their hatred. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for not only the superintendent but for others as well, including the kids. They knew it was offensive and spoke up. I think that's a great thing.

Ministry* which, for at least 20 years has meant Preachy assed bastards who will preach and lecture on Christianity and morals. His cover story is bullshit.
