    From wikipedia

A news leak is a disclosure of embargoed information in advance of its official release, or the unsanctioned release of confidential information.
Columnist Robert Novak published a leak, outing CIA agent Valerie Plame in 2003.
I'll repeat it in my own words, just so you get it. The leak  was the revelation that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent. It came from members of the Bush admin who were privy to that knowledge. The outing was done by Bob Novak, who published this previously secret information in the Washington Post.

If you're going to engage in semantic arguments, knowing the commonly accepted meanings of words helps a great deal.

to provide you with a venn diagram here, so you can keep up, what with the written word causing you such profound confusion.

Bombing Iran is far more dangerous than Iran getting The Bomb.

Besides asserting that "leaking" and "outing" mean whatever stupid thing it is you think they mean, you believe that you have a right to know WHAT the security apparatus of the US does, but not WHO its employees are. How profound! Please, use some of that sixth grade set theory to show us how that would work.

I understand now why you have people recommending your tortured misuse of the English language. Who wouldn't cheer such novel and insightful thinking?
