    •  Good. Some of them are over the line (12+ / 0-)

It ALL needs to be cleaned up.  Enough with the whole "shock jock" shit.  It was stupid when it started and it's way past its prime now.

Let's get back to some honest, factual reporting.  No more "how do you feeeeeeeeeel about that?" schtick.  I've written to our local news stations and told them to lay off the twit and facebook readings and put on some goddamned news.  Take the 3 minutes they use to read that shit and do a story on mortgage fraud, or oil speculation, or tainted baby food or, or, or.  ANYTHING but the fucking twits and facebook posts.

decides that the whole political talk arena is just too toxic for  them they're not likely to say, "Except for Thom Hartmann. He's safe." The whole industry is going to take a hit without much distinction made about who's over the line and who isn't. And unfortunately someone like Hartmann is more vulnerable than Limbaugh.

Romney is more critical of Nascar fans wearing plastic raincoats than he is of Limbaugh defaming a young student.

    •  Who is scared that shouldn't be? (0+ / 0-)

I really doubt this. You have a tendency to see everything as coal-black for our side. why should someone like Rachel Maddow or Ed Schultz be scare? (Well, if I still got Ed Schultz here, he maybe should be scared of me changing the station if he kept going on about dungeoness crab).

      •  Someone in a meeting (0+ / 0-)

says, "Fuck it. No more political talk radio. Right, left, I don't care. It gets people mad and they blame out product." And then everyone else in the meeting goes, "Yeah, yeah, absolutely." When someone is in a "fuck it" mood there's isn't much discernment. Anything potentially controversial gets the axe.

Rachel isn't on radio anymore, so unless the wave gets directed at cable news, she should be immune.
