    our schools were integrated. I went to 2. The first neighborhood I lived in was segregated. I'm talking 40s and 50s here.

    Transportation was integrated. My family physician's waiting room had AA and white patients - in the same room!

    Workplaces were integrated.

    Maybe the North wasn't paradise, but it certainly was better than the South and offered AAs more opportunities.

    Progressives will win when we convince a majority that they, too, are Progressive.
