    I hear this every day, read it everywhere, whether the source is liberal, corporate media, idiots-for-Yahoo!News, WorldNet Daily...oil speculators are driving the price of gas up.

    But not the price of oil. Not more than 5 or 6%, at most, by my recollection. But the price of GAS is up at least 20-25% in the same period.

    I wish people would keep their facts straight. Oil/gas prices have diverged, more or less, but no one points that out. No one.

    And I paid $40 to fill my 96 Tercel yesterday...an outrage I have not experienced since the end of the Bush Administration. But right after Obama was inaugurated, the Great Recession drove the price of crude so low, I paid $1.39 a gallon, and kept that receipt for posterity.
