View Diary: ROFLMAO: Virginia Republicans Delete Angry/Snarky Comments Like Mad from Their FB Pages, But... (102 comments)

  •  They're doing it on "friendly" sites as well (20+ / 0-)

I got a bunch of comments deleted from the comments section of my local right-friendly Seattle Times having to do with birth control and women's health rights, because, I believe, I was too mean to far-right bigots and misogynists. Whereas snarky RW comments were allowed to remain.

For example, after one local WA judge recently ruled that it's ok for pharmacies to not fill prescriptions for Plan B pills if it was against their religious beliefs, I posted a comment suggesting that this judge hated women (which he does) because he was deemed not "sponge-worthy" by the women in his life. It was deleted. But comments calling women who want this pill irresponsible and loose were allowed to remain. There is clearly a double standard going on.

Although it's secondary to the real consequences of their behavior, I can never get over just how thin-skinned and petulant so many of these Repubs are when called out on their despicable behavior, so great is their unwarranted sense of entitlement and so clueless they are about how unmerited that sense is. I almost feel sorry for them as they truly do appear to be surprised at the backlash against their policies, like a slaveowner who doesn't quite understand why his slaves hate him so much given how "nicely" he's treated them.

We need to put them out of their misery--by putting them out of office, where they'll have plenty of time to engage in the self-pity they're so fond of.
