  •  And the other religions mentioned? (0+ / 0-)

Why all this obsessing about Hindus mentioned in a list of major religions?  Nothing to say about the others?

Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Over half your list is Christian sects; a sect doesn't count as an independent religion.

If you've got something to say about other religions, write a diary on it instead of demanding other people do it for you.

    •  Well, I thought of Hindus (0+ / 0-)

because I have a lot of Hindu neighbors -- the joy of living in the heart of Silly Con Valley -- and they have fairly specific dietary laws against beef. One could easily substitute Orthodox Jewish hierarchy demanding Denny's eliminate the Grand Slam Breakfast (bacon and sausage, horrors!) or Muslim hierarchy protesting a Hawaiian pig roast.

      •  You seem to readily dismiss (0+ / 0-)

the fervent beliefs and religious dictates of the orthodox jews and muslims...it's all just about dietary laws?  No influence on the political discourse or influence on their followers from those religions, just the Catholics...
